New York, The Fairy Tale: The real source of my inspiration!

Hello my dear readers, I have decided to interrupt my seasonal reviews for a very important write up on my trip to New York, just giving you an idea of the trends I've spotted lurking in the "Big Apple", and trust me, you won't be disappointed.

Let me begin this story by saying, "fairy tales are the stories that stand with us through the test of time", so here it goes...Once upon a time, there was this young man, full of hopes, aspirations and goals but smitten with the harsh realities of life on an island. He would scourage through many an internet fashion site to find joy, the joy that could only be felt when he saw the season's newest colour, the new "it" accessory or just managed to squeeze enough life out of his internet service provider to lay eyes upon the genius that is Burberry Prorsum. It was a life that he longed to change, longed to recreate, just the chance never really came.

Days, months, years passed by, sometimes with the dreams in his eyes and heart getting bigger and harder to cope with, so his mother said I can grant you a wish, "think wisely" she said, he swiftly replied,"think?...that isn't necessary, I wish to go aboard and study Fashion & Journalism!", and so it was granted to be done in a month's time. One thing he didn't know was that mother had already planned to give him a little one week taste of his dreams by sending him to Manhattan, and that night he closed his eyes with the biggest smirk on his face because all that he could see was a magical journey unfolding before him.

The next morning came, eyes open now, he realizes that his room has changed, noises flooded in from the streets below and with one look outside, he shouted "Unbelievable", with the shock of it all, he sat down, waiting to catch himself and in walks, one of his best friends, Shemida. "So we are here babe" she said, as if it were all planned without his knowledge and he was frozen and shifted to an alternate universe. In time he came to his senses, thought to himself "what the heck", grabbed Shemida and headed out to the door, running to the elevator, through the lobby, swirled around the spinning doors to the bright light that was to be downtown Manhattan, everything was as he expected, well maybe not the trash on the floor but this is not what he was there for, so that didn't slow him one bit.

All the different and beautiful ethnicities, all the looks, the individualistic styles and attitudes were everything he had imagined and more. "To Soho we go", Shemida beckoned and off to the subway, were their Aldo clad feet. On arrival to Broadway-Lafayette St, the subway was filled with so many people, none looking remotely similar to each other, and it dawned on him, what he had been missing his whole life, coming from a society that was swarmed with follow pattern, heavy bandwagon fashionistas. He started to take note, realising the different styles from hipster to grunge to vintage to preppy to urban chic, but what he realised most of all were the hairstyles, it was as if, that was the main accessory of each individual's look...buzz cuts, dreadlocks, but the showstoppers all had one thing in common, shaved sides and hair on the top...whether it was natural, permed or texturised. The most interesting persons to him, all rocked a variation of "The Rihanna", guys and girls, with colours like blonde, red, even pink or just rocked it with the use of the texture of their own hair, some were swooped to the side, some to the rear, but each one was completely different, who would have known it were possible.

Later on that day, another thing he noticed was the array of tattoo sleeves that contrasted and complimented the outfits of each sex, some very vintage in style but then modernised with the edgy pop of the tatts, it was all such a sight to see. Girls wore dresses, with jeans jackets over them, all with a certain flair and confidence to their ensemble. It seemed to be a never ending cycle of fashion, another thing he saw that was predominant in everyone's summer wardrobe were boat shoes, boots and dressier shoes on the whole, sneakers were not to be seen really, it was definitely a different experience from being back home.

The week flew by quickly, but one thing that stood out about the trends and inspirations was that it was the time of being an individual, it wasn't about particular rules to follow and if in some fashion magazine it were, everyone was breaking them.

The End.

I know the end was a bit abrupt but the truth is, there were no real trends, it was all about being you and loving you as best as you possibly could!

Resort 2011 - Givenchy

Irresistible, Givenchy, that is the first thing that escaped my breath when I saw this collection, Tisci creates nothing but irresistible clothing, and continues to keep me a devout fan of the fashion house.

When asked what was his idea of resort, he replied, "Resort, for me, is about making sure the shop floors are stocked with the pieces that our girl has gotten attached to.", I agree, and now with the fashion world's love of leopard print and the abundance of it, along with familiar colours, red, white and black in this showing, his cult should be quite pleased. A biblical air is always felt when looking at recent Tisci creations, with the accessories, the crown of thorns, the crosses, and the use of the lace and sheer, it is as if it would the ritual wear of choice by religious sacrificial believers, but none the less all beautiful and pure.

Tisci's best-selling trompe l'oeil jacket, a piece known to have unique features of looking like two instead of one, was remade in two blends, an all white, with a embroidered bottom and a leopard one with a black bottom, stunning and both covet worthy. Don't think for a minute that the clothing were the only things to drop to your knees and praise GI-VEN-CHY for, the shoes were some sort of graphic fiasco that I couldn't keep my eyes off of, this collection was just praise of brilliance!

Resort 2011 - Erdem

Erdem proves once more, you don't always need to begin with something that screams beautiful to actually create something that is beautiful, the feeling of this collection is that of a "Gothic suburban" beauty, words taken from Erdem Moralioglu himself.

Everything about this showing speaks of a designer that knows what they are doing, yes most dresses were simple shirt dresses and drop waist frocks but that was not it, it was the execution that stood out. The electricity fused flower print, something absent of much joy and life, not only had me mesmerised but the use of the other fabrics really amplified everything that was there already, things as clever as laying the lace over the print, added another level of ominous beauty, also ruffling the actual print fabric, it was just a great example of knowing what to do with your prints to create a masterpiece. The fit of the clothing was stellar and just made more sense on the models body, even the floor length looks were amazing, kudos to a designer who adds a touch of reality to his work, our everyday lives aren't always full of beautiful things but we must learn how to make those unattractive and depressing things into magical moments!

Resort 2011 - Diane Von Furstenberg

The queen of prints as she is know to many, of course did not leave her claim to fame for anything else but just showed us why she is so good. This collection's runway was inspired by a 1983 photo of her sitting in a chair in front a wall of mirrors, thus explaining the outfitted models, taking a vain stare at themselves before stepping through a key hole and strutting the vintage beach looks down the catwalk.

For me this showing by DVF, really kept me captivated because not only were the prints great but a real graphic representation was created with how the stripes and other prints were laid on the garments, also the layering of sheers or cutouts over prints, it was the edgiest yet I have seen by DVF, and I loved. The colour scheme was subdued with a slight pop of colour here and there...and the looks ranged from wrap and strap dresses, shorts, bikinis, rompers and even a trench that could be worn after the season has passed, most graced by the accessory of the show, the visor. The other accessories were decent but the orange and blue suede heels with the pattern cloth tie around were excellent, who wouldn't want those in their summer arsenal.

Definitely an impressive collection by DVF, very feminine, graphic and resort worthy!

Resort 2011 - Derek Lam

After my run in with Chanel, I was actually pretty unamused about the other reviews to follow but I am very happy that i put my horrible thoughts aside, my almost career ending debacle behind me and opened my eyes to Derek Lam. This collection was so minimalist, so simple, so precise and that put all of my senses back to a place of peace, which is exactly how I should feel reviewing resort collections.

The colours were sometimes electrifying, calm at other times, everything was above the knee, but with all that said, it was refined, it was a vision that seen,set and conquered. Lots of cocktail dresses and just everyday chic clothing, it was a collection the designer said was inspired from the architects he works with that do miniture dolls of his actual models for a showcase in his studio, so it has a certain charm to it that was quite hand crafted, for example the eyelets and the materials chosen, although that was certainly not the only inspiration because some safari looks were seen as well, with the pockets by the bosom.

Overall, a quaint, refreshing, refined and youthful collection by Derek Lam with some worthy accessories.

Resort 2011 - Chanel

"Now, this is real resort wear" noted my mom, yeah I know she may not be a critic or really not that interested in fashion but she is a real woman, a real woman who could be a future consumer of the same collection that I am now going to throw my reviewing chops at. Chanel, is always known for its very high budget runway shows and should we expect less from Karl Lagerfeld, really? A man who has had some of the most beautiful and famous muses in the world as his own, some whom he actually made their careers; surprisingly this one is much more attire focused.

Anyway, onto the collection, lets begin with the first look, a beautiful full length flowing dress with flowing sleeves, a fresh colourful print and sandals in hand, it was to be the start of a collection which would feel like a breath of fresh air! Most looks came down the runway absent of shoes, as to give you a feeling of an escape to a paradise. The tone of the collection remained refreshingly light with more lively prints, ruffles, cute jumpsuits, and everything allowing the wind to lift it as it pleases. Suddenly, other avenue of spring/summer was opened with more colours but now in bold stripes and colour blocking, then another road of inspiration, with a softer version of a monochromatic female safari inspired woman graced the catwalk, all barefooted of course.

Honestly, I am very sorry about how in detail I've started in comparison to where I am about to go now, but with eighty-seven looks with so much different directions showcased, it is only fair to you and myself, that I try to sum this incredible array of Chanel up; oh don't stake my when you see me, I'm sure you would have done the same if you were in my position. Lets get to it then...embroidered faded denim, sheers, checkered is here to stay (well, at least if Karl has a say in it anyway), also seen was a fishnet-esque coat thrown over the swimwear, yes, so much to talk about but should I really be complaining when its all actually pretty good!

Alright, this is the part you have been waiting on, the moment where I found something to keep me writing but this time with more enthusiasm than anguish, yup, there is one, a good one too. Chanel managed to keep the classic quality that is found in the their suit and make it resort wear, with the types of fabrics chosen to the creative mind of "channeling" it into a jumpsuit, even having it in a shorts version, I found that to be quite refreshing.

Although I stated that i have found new life in extending my review, I will quit while I am ahead, say to you, it has been a daunting ride of beautiful clothing but collections of this stature, make a whole heap of editorial pain in the rear end and in the ego, it is as if I have bitten off way more than I could have possibly chewed!

Resort 2011 - Celine

I know my usual way of starting reviews is to, jump with joy, rant about my obsessions or just praise to the almighty that these designers are allowed to do what they do oh so well, but this time, its different, I'm speechless. Celine has honestly captured everything that is the essence of resort wear, the simple flow that the pieces allowed with the movement of the models, the choice of materials used, even the array of looks from pant suits, coats, sun dresses, party dresses, even a gown & a jumper to shorts, bags(in particular, an amazing fluorescent yellow clutch and shoes, it was all there.

Celine, has been forever rising in terms of their collections but its like their only aim now is to top themselves each season, and I know my words may not stand for much in the fashion world right now but I think they conquer and defeat with ease everything they have done in the past, each and every time. There is one particular look in this whole collection that jumped out at me and said "whatagwan rasta" but in the most chic way that could possibly be said; the way in which those three colours were made to look so effortlessly high fashion was something I not only waited to see happen for years but was completely proud to see finally stand clear from all the others.

To say much more about a collection that has left me so speechless with joy, would be robbing you of your time and just encouraging me to ramble, so without further ado, I give you the collection that made me doubt my skill of words but blessed my eyes with the joy of sight!

Resort 2011 - Carolina Herrera

Carolina Herrera, the epitome of femininity, colourful elegance and class, this collection didn't fall short of the descriptions i so blatantly threw at you a moment ago. It is a collection for all those women whose lives are full of upper strata social events during the summer and just need as much ball gowns to choose from as possible.

Every piece seemed as if it was it's own masterpiece to framed and plastered on a wall in a museum, but with so much different lengths to play with, its not an one era showing by Carolina Herrera, I could go on and on about the beautiful prints, the tulle, the pronounced high class structure of the pieces but I'm sure my words won't do justice to the beauty I've seen in the pictures. Kudos to Carolina Herrera, for yet another look in the dreams of many a woman but the realities of only a few.

Resort 2011 - Calvin Klein

One thinks of Calvin Klein and automatically erotically charged images of underwear ads are probed to the front of all thoughts allowed by the mind, it would be as if this fashion house was a strong promoter of sexual promiscuity but in fact, you couldn't be any further from being completely incorrect.

Calvin Klein, has repeatedly put out amazing collections with architectural edge, ease of flow, the most innocent looking and angelic pieces one may have ever seen...a bit over indulgent with my words, eh? maybe but not quite. This collection was like all the others, simplistic, sometimes bland, but yet effortlessly effortless, it just made you feel as if it was created to be lounged in at your favorite resort in the Greek isles or somewhere in the Caribbean, maybe even Sandy Lane, in Barbados. The fabric choices soft, and the colour choices gentle as always, with whites, faded grays, browns, a washed blue but then a pop of striking yellow was seen on this one dress and some of the shoe heels; Also, a shimmery fabric was another highlight of the collection which made it seem as magnificent as looking over the glistening crystal clear waters of the places I stated before.

Of course, with such minimalist attributes to Calvin Klein's design, the details were mere darts, tucks and vertical pleats all of which really gave an interesting effect. This is definitely a collection that will thrive from the many accessories you ladies collect, but with that said, it stayed true to the nature of what we know as the new Calvin Klein, not only a sexual beast but quite the opposite, maybe even a simple, cool, playful breeze of ingenuity.

Resort 2011 - Burberry Prorsum

Christopher Bailey, the king, the creative genius that is the head of a fashion house that I can speak no wrong about, that elite fashion house being Burberry Prorsum. I kneel with one knee to the ground and the other facing my computer, head bowed and hands in a "hats off" position at the glory that is his resort 2011 collection, brilliance!

The aim of this collection is one of a much more personal "worn in" feeling that is to be exuded from each piece, said King Christopher, and with my limited scope of the said pieces I can say, mission accomplished. From the military inspired scuffed leather thigh high boots which definitely show an aged sexy, to the aged belts, one in a very exotic and appealing python, oh la la, snakes are definitely a turn on in the fashion world.

Alright, I know you are saying to yourself, I haven't spoken much about the clothing and this is a clothing review more so than a downright admittance to my obsession of all things Burberry, what can I say, the clothes are just magical, as expected! We know that trenches are the main forte of their arsenal, and one's mind continues to wonder how much more can be done with a mere coat, but surprise, surprise, surprise, why not wear nothing under it, lighten the fabric and transform that piece into a wrap dress, again I say the word, brilliance. The fabric choices in this collection are stellar and the colour story is one that I quite favor with olives, tans, blacks, grays, navy and greens, also a follow through theme of military remained in the forefront, It honestly couldn't get any better and just pushed that amazing Fall 2010 collection back into the mind.

Everything was fitted to the body as it were an exoskeleton, so the youthful factor was sure not to perish as a result of all the aging, the bags were credit card worthy as were the strapped booties. I do have one confession to make though, one small thing that I was a little in dismay about, was the detailing that was on most of the dresses and skirts that could be a bit odd shaped, unflattering and messy for anyone above the size of a supermodel but who knows how it will fall in reality.

Okay guys, don't be sad, this collection had about four male looks, each simple but each amazing and definitely closet worthy, so imagine the collection that would be the menswear, such a tease, King Christopher, such a tease.

In conclusion, this collection stands for everything that Burberry is and also cements my stand for everything that is Burberry!

Resort 2011 - Alexander Wang

Yes...Its Wang's turn...Alexander Wang has been no stranger to my reviews and with that said, I never once went easy on the chosen one. I must say before I have been incredibly shocked about how his clothing has grown on me, at first what I saw as madness just became unprecedented genius but can he produce something else now, or is he sticking to his new found inspiration horse and riding it until the "media" decides we have had enough.

This collection is pretty edgy much like the last two we have seen with the cutouts, the belly outs, the pleating, the over-sized knits and the sportswear, oh well, you know that saying, "don't fix it if it ain't want fixing", well that's not quite it but you get what I'm saying. Its a great collection with the introduction of some new colours, new travel ready fabrics such a jacquard and mesh pieces, oh and the well approved removal of the velvet, so clap here and clap there for Mr.Wang. Truth is, I can't wait to see people on the streets and the editorial shots of these pieces because believe it or not, its where this stuff really shines!

Resort 2011 - ADAM

Wow...is how I will open this review of ADAM's Resort 2011 collection...not wow because of the genius behind it, or is it, really genius that I've yet to realise? I am not one to be bashful of a designer's work because I believe everyone has a point of view but when you reach a certain plateau in your career, lets just say I expect more than what I can walk into H&M, Zara or Topshop, see and purchase for way less!

Alright, let me just be an unbiased critic and say, the colours are amazing, some of the pieces are closet worthy like the leather shorts, the vest sheer silk and cotton dress and the printed dress that falls to the ground, all nice but still yet so simple, I wouldn't like to think this collection was just about producing to make money, instead of being a result of any inspiration, but maybe that was the inspiration, nothing but necessity, maybe it was for a surfer girl judging by the hair; I don't know! This is all i will say about the collection, since it is basically nice basics, oh and nice sandals too.

Resort 2011 - 3.1 Philip Lim Womenswear

Sigh, it feels like forever since I last wrote a review on a collection and honestly, it feels somewhat of a tragic disposition of my words will be the result of this one! Anyway, here it goes, resort collections are where one looks for the ease of motion within the pieces, the lounging factor, the simplistic glam and since we are reviewing the work of high priced designers, I also look at the execution of luxury!

3.1 Philip Lim, for me is always a fashion house who I have all good things to say about but this time, I was left with slight confusion as to why this is the time I decided to return to the world of critical writing. The collection was in the very popular colour story of nudes, green, brown and gray, nothing new for Lim, most pieces had a sheen to them, and in terms of the comfort level seemed to fit the bar quite well, with jersey and silk being major fabric choices.

I know you maybe wondering well, why did I start on such a unsure tone but still credit him so well in that last paragraph, well, he did get some things right as expected from a talent like himself but in my opinion, he should have kept his pieces short in length because it is in the full length looks where he faltered. I know the plan was to be free and create a sense of relaxed comfort but the looks just felt old and used up, also with the choice of bootie, just quite frankly made it all the worst for those wide legged looks that didn't quite fall correctly with the fabrics they were made with. Anyway enough bashing, the jumpsuits rocked and rocked well, I can see this being the selling point for this collection, yes we have seen them before but as a resort piece and in jersey, it was a wise jump by 3.1 Philip Lim. Also, the print used in several looks, for example, that trench, top and bottom was quite captivating and left me with a good taste in my mouth.

So in conclusion, some good pieces here and there, then one or two great looks, then some matron like pieces too but overall I'm sure, his die hard fans won't be too disappointed, because eventually, I'm sure I will grow to adore it as well!

Hey everyone, I am back and yes, I'm here to stay. It took me a while to fall back into any sort of stride, with one trip to my future abode, Toronto and another trip to Manhattan, the hub of my inspiration. I have decided to bounce right back and do what I love which is writing about fashion and showing you my amazing readers, my point of view with so much hope to hear yours as well! Well its Resort 2011 season...summer is closing in...it promises to be a great one! So lets get this ball rolling...

The Future of The Blog...

Hey my avid and very supportive readers, I know it has been way too long since you have read a word typed by my very capable but frustrated fingers, reason being is I have been completely enthralled in thought about how to progress with my blog, since around all I see is another blog taking off and being noted...and my blog isn't really progressing how I feel it should.

No...this is not me giving up on the blog because it has become a part of me that I really can't let go and definitely can't stop, it must live on as long as a blog is relevant to you my very important readers ...it is just I want to bring you unique and interesting material, all which recently I haven't been able to truly access or comprehend where to begin to put it together...but then it struck me...summer in Toronto is very near, which means amazing photography, clothing and friends so i was no longer pained with those negative thoughts.

So this post is just one of those thank you posts for being so supportive and patient but this summer with my new wardrobe upgrade and style evolution, also my new friends, some who are talented photographers, it should be an epic summer, so lets say it together...the future of the blog is definitely a good one!

Such A Long Hiatus...

I know that it has been way too long...without any posts or anything but have no fear, everything I am doing is for the progression of the blog. I have been super busy in Toronto, just trying to get my life together...find my place...work out a strategy of how Imma be Imma be rich baby rich...

Its all coming together fairly well, obviously there are some downs as well but those I can't let get to me, because I have too much things that need to be accomplished...so this was just to let you...my amazing readers that I will be back in full swing soon...and thanks for being so patient...

Toronto Update: Discover Bruno Ierullo

Alright, everyone should know by now that I am in Toronto on a very serious mission to secure all of my life goals and compelling aspirations of success. Well, all I can say about that is, I had the most amazing week in my life and to thank for that would be Bruno Ierullo, a menswear and womenswear fashion and accessories designer that I would call Toronto's hidden gem. Isn't he just cool also?? Such a fun guy to work with as well!

Yeah I know you probably haven't heard about him before and that is unfortunately why I used the adjective "hidden", since he isn't one to be seen at Fashion Week but from time to time would produce his own shows...I hope you are excited to find out more and see what was my collaboration with Mr. Ierullo...yes? I thought so...well it was for a long photo shoot that will represent his online store and I couldn't be more proud to be involved in such a grand step in his progression because quite frankly the clothing is nothing short of constructive genius. I styled mannequins and helped an amazing photographer by the name of Michael Feswick (check the genius at work here) along the journey of capturing all of the many designs created by Bruno Ierullo.

Anyway, enough about me, lets get to what you really want to know about, the clothing...well at first glance, it is like a candy factory or a rainbow, hmmm better yet a skittle factory of tasty colours is the best description for his incredible love of all things joyful, vibrant and interesting which is definitely what you will be your feeling with these pieces donning your body. Although the colours may be extremely eye popping and catch your attention without hesitation, Bruno Ierullo believes in detail and originality even though there is no real intricate over-design involved with his pieces since they are relatively straight forward with a couple notches here and there that make you cringe with excitement for the twist of uniqueness that you would be privileged to wear.

The fabric choices are very much top notch as well with many Italian wools and linens...its expected with him being of that descent, we all know that the Italians know well made clothing. Another interesting detail is the use of some unconventional materials such as rubber for pieces like suspenders and button clasps, just another way of being completely unique without making you wonder into a world that minds shouldn't have to venture when it comes to figuring out if something is fashionable or not, so props to him for finding that balance.
Anyway...I can go on and on about his creativity but words aren't going to rightfully justify what a visual can do...so soak in energy of the pictures and witness for yourself the talented, colourful and most definitely deserving of global recognition, Mr. Bruno Ierullo.

So from now on remember the B.I. Logo...and for some humour - even stuff toys know their stuff!

So again...I have to Thank Mr.Bruno Ierullo for this amazing opportunity and his assistant...probably the best in the world Rene Holder for the hookup! Mike for all the fun times...as well as Rene again...also, the amazing staff he has around him...everyone is so great at what they do...I wish the Bruno Ierullo brand great success!

Swing into Spring 2010...Menswear Help!

Don't we just love that spring fashion is going to be in full swing in a couple weeks, it is such an amazing time of year, so colourful and cheerful and particularly great for me because its the time I can wear a neon pink pants and people would just say...its spring and he's happy!

Sigh, where do I begin? Paris Fashion Week has come and gone with not one review by myself...I'm actually disappointed that I couldn't have shared my thoughts with you about it but I am quite frankly so busy right now that my blog has suffered this last week. I apologise profusely but its all for better times ahead, I'm am preparing for my trip to Toronto to sort out living arrangements for this Fall 2010 when I start school there, its quite a big step since I'll be doing it all alone...but we gotta do what we have to, for progression. At least, the blog will be taken on a whole other journey within this short trip of about four weeks and I hope you do stay with me and experience life from a small island to a big city, it'll be like a taste of whats to come when I actually move there! So let the journey begin...

Also...I will be showing you some of my favorites from Paris but again without a review because of the time i am granted with at the moment...and some that I didn't get around to from Milan as well!

Milan Fashion Week 2010 Womenswear - Byblos

Alright this was a late minute entry into my lineup of ones to review but its like that saying "save the best for last", although it'll probably still be around the third or fourth best this season for me. I know you are there saying who is Byblos and why is he ranting and raving on about this brand that isn't yet a household name on our side of the world.

Well, its because and don't get me wrong or take this too far out of context but...is it only me or did Alexander Mcqueen die and reincarnate himself into the body of the designer at Byblos...this collection has so many traits of the legendary Mcqueen house but not only the fit and the construction, its also the unbelievable futuristic edgy yet wearable aura of the clothing and what about those graphic prints, can you tell me where we've seen them before...*hmm hmm thinking thinking*, exactly Mcqueen's spring collection for the women and the menswear collection for Fall...could Byblos satisfy our future cravings of Mcqueen's brilliance...

Alright, enough of the comparison because there is no way Lee will ever be replaced but its not about replacing, its about seeing that element of interest once more, its about staring at clothing and wondering the thought process behind them...and this is what Byblos gave me, maybe not as extreme as Lee with the shows and theatrics but definitely a designer who knows what he is doing! I remained stunned at this collection and it will definitely be sketched in my heart as a tribute to a great with their many similarities and sorry Byblos that Mr.Mcqueen took over majority of your post but then again, why sorry when that is one of the worlds biggest compliments, Congrats on an amazing showing!

Anyway...all great collections in their own way...so now i'll just show you about five of my favorite looks from each so you can get the idea of the collections.

Prada: It was cute(*lol)! cute shoes too...

Gianfranco Ferre: I actually kinda like this quite alot...Love how everything looks like a second layer of skin...

Blumarine: Animalistic with many good moments, just I've seen alot of them before or at least it seemed that way.

Milan Fashion Week 2010 Womenswear - Etro

Yippie...Etro Etro Etro Etro...I know you can hear my loud banter from across I.P addresses across the world, yes, this is what good fashion does to me, this is what Etro always happens to achieve, good, better yet, great fashion. Sigh, Etro is everything I believe in and is definitely becoming my leading designer for both menswear and womenswear with their last few collections shown.

Alright, enough of my self confession of my love of all things Etro, lets get started on this current showing at Milan fashion week fall/winter 2010. This is honestly the best trip to Shanghai ever, visually it was so inspired and not in that cliche way, it had kimono dresses with the most interesting twists, beautiful Asian prints with some of the most soothing colours i've seen this season (*sigh don't I sound biased, although it is nothing but the truth). The colour palette is just astounding with so many colours I won't even start to state them, just lets say again, the best i've seen this season.

Don't think it ended there with it being overly feminine with those prints and dresses, another side of Shanghai was channeled with military now becoming the forefront, and again "I die", it was brilliance, the jackets, the coats, the suits just kept everything flying high.

Now onto the details of this collection, the icing and the cherry on top this beautiful cake of fashion, they had patterned leggings, an amazing jewelry-esque thing around the necklines of some pieces, sorta tribal like and then, the drop earrings. Another interesting detail was Etro's use of fur, yes fur jackets were shown but I speak of the fox tails dangling from a suit and a coat, wow...only Etro!

Anyway as you already know I will say, it was the best collection for the season, and it is in my eyes, but now its for you to let me know what you think, actually it really doesn't matter(*and that it is not that I don't value your opinion, cause I do but...) because I stand behind the genius that is, Etro and nothing could make me think twice of my words in this post!

Milan Fashion Week 2010 Womenswear - Versace

Versace, just keeps getting more and more amazing, the showing was a touch of brilliance with its many impressive attributes. Splits so high yet so appropriate for the sexy that was bestowed upon us with those dresses, also the lovely asymmetrical details in the necklines and hemlines, the cutouts are somewhat of a peek at the bodies of unbelievable beauty.

The fabric choices were another step in the right direction with metallic leathers, furs, denim and sheers. The colours were bright and captivating as we have grown to expect from Versace, so no bore there...but the thing that left us all more captivated was the tailoring, it was impeccable and for a fashion house who never focused much on that aspect of design, that is a step to the future. The collection was said to have that Avatar-esque or Versace goes to Pandora on a hot space motorbike, with the detailing and even the blue on the runway. It was another great showing with alot of interesting moments, congrats!

Milan Fashion Week 2010 Womenswear - DSquared2

For all those who read my blog and I mean actually read the reviews, would remember DSquared2's menswear this season with its tough and bloody tribute to Canada's favorite past time and Olympic triumphs in the sport of hockey, also the elevator on the runway and the lead of Tokio Hotel donning the catwalk. Well, the elevator is still there, the toughness is still there but this time its just good clothing no tribute, just beautiful clothing for a strong woman!

The setting was somewhat of a mad scientist lab of fashion, with what Dean and Dan called..."Miss Jekyl and Miss Design" meaning themselves...it was to be "the building of the perfect twins based on the Helmut Newton Superbabe" Dan said...it was Helmut Meets Munga...I agree, everything looked so tough yet still feminine, with the leathers, the distressed looks, the denim, it all fit right on inspiration, especially with Lady Gaga - "Dance in the Dark" playing in the background of the girls strutting down the runway...Sah Sah Silicone, Saline, Poison, Inject me, baby, I'm Free B*tch, A Free B*tch...Marilyn, Judy, Sylvia, Tell em how you feel, Girls, Work your blonde, Benet Ramsey will haunt like liberace...

Once more a great collection by Dean & Dan, with impeccable tailoring and construction! Congrats Guys!

Milan Fashion Week 2010 Womenswear - Moschino Cheap & Chic

Moschino Cheap & Chic must have been the most fun runway show to watch, it was as if the well dressed girls were late for a flight and of course fashionably so, because of such indulgent shopping.

This collection was so incredibly eclectic with military traits such as cargo trousers and rugged booties, high glam girl with lustrous furs, luxury weekender bags, glamorous florals & rose motifs and then somewhat costume chic with high styled french maids. The booties of Moschino Cheap & Chic were the rage for me, definitely the high point and consistency within this collection, other highlights were the studded jacket and the hints of safari that could be seen throughout some of the pieces in the collection, all of which added to the eclectic nature with such savannah rocker glam insignia(* Don't you just love the descriptive nature of fashion and it's critics).

An enjoyable collection from Moschino Cheap & Chic with alot of looks that can be enjoyed and a runway show that will be remembered!

Milan Fashion Week 2010 Womenswear - Fendi

Fendi...one of Karl Lagerfeld's fashion houses with the help of Silvia Venturini as designer also, has decided this season to go back to the roots of Fendi, but not by just recreating what the brand has made before but just by the basis of creating a stronger collection with more focus on materials in their natural state. The runway was back dropped with an amazing Fendi wall and the colours were inspired from an Edward Hopper exhibition in Rome that Mr.Lagerfeld had not too long seen and deemed incredible!

The lines and silhouettes in this showing were amazingly clean and tailored, the fabric choices were stellar and just looked extremely luxe, the wools, the furs, it was all incredible but what stood out was just the brilliance within the styling and the mix of the fabrics. The lengths of the coats and skirts were on trend for this season which as we have been seeing is beneath the knee and full in proportion, the coats were unique and the coat dress resurfaced. The colours that inspired Mr.Lagerfeld were quite captivating so I can see why, with nice deep blues, yellows, greens, greys, browns,an oxblood red and of course, Black, all which were tossed around the looks via clothing or accessory. Another great highlight was that couture-esque Astrakhan dress with the strips detailing.

Now onto the accessories, the bags were very nice but let me waste no more time and get straight to what will be a coveted shoe this season, some killer boxer chic booties with a rubber cap toe, they came in so many different colours and fabrics such as ostrich leather and suede.

Well you know we couldn't have a Fendi show or better yet anything by Karl Lagerfeld and not have a serious fashion following, none other than my inspiration and future boss, Rachel Zoe was in the front row, looking amazing in a leopard print coat...I say "I Die", as she must have been saying throughout the whole show...because it was so her, vintage and glamourous.
I am very happy to say that i have backstage photos as well because I like to see the models in their own comfort zones and how they act in the clothing is amazing, it just gives you a better vibe of how it'll actually be off runway...sometimes its much better to me! Also, Anna Wintour was backstage as well as the man himself, Mr. Karl Lagerfeld.

Well, its definitely here and in full effect already, just the other day it was New York Fashion Week, matter a fact, it was Menswear in Milan! Talk about how time flies and the amount of collections showcased in that short space of time...its quite incredible, anyway we are back at Milan, the home of the most sought after designers...so I'm sure this one would be an interesting one to see.

London FW 2010 Menswear Day!! - James Long

Alright...I know you may not have heard this name before but after this, I'm sure you will remember it, James Long is London's new hope for menswear and with him they are in good hands. This showing I think is his second at London Fashion Week and it is definitely better than the first, for this collection he channeled inspiration from the guys working in the boiler room and produced some amazing looks with jumpers included.

The fabrics were interesting with corduroy, furs, wools, leathers...the colours were captivating since he worked with leathers which were featured in a bright red jacket and a striking blue sleeveless jacket(definitely my coveted piece of this collection), he also showcased incredible knitwear and an alluring print used in a trench coat, a weekender bag and some other pieces, that was actually from a painting a friend recently made for him...talk about how the creative mind works!

Anyway Congrats to James Long, I really enjoyed everything shown and would love to own each and every piece!

London FW 2010 Menswear Day!! - Topman Design

Menswear day in London, what an amazing day it turned out to be with Topman included in the lineup, one could only think that it would be a spectacular showing. Topman is known for being on trend, very fitted and affordably fashionable, now there is Topman Design, it seems to be the luxe version of the mainstream brand and I like!

The theme was military, kinda reminded me of the ever wonderful Burberry Prorsum 2010 collection, a similar colour palette with greens, blues, reds but the thing about Topman's take on army chic was more relaxed. Looser silhouettes were shown in baggier than usual pants with potato sack waists, and oversized coats but don't worry guys, they still had slim fitted pants in jersey fabric, one in particular with some sick cargo pockets had me smiling from ear to ear, definitely a must have for me this Fall coming!! The other fabric choices were nice as well, with sherling lining, velvet jackets, frayed denim jeans, leather and wool pieces but what set this collection in the right fall mood was the amazing forest tree print, it just worked. As for accessories and shoes, it was kept simple with fingerless mittens and some pretty average yet "fitting of the theme" shoes.

So overall a great collection, it being their first show alone since they used to show with MAN in the past, congrats and I hope that I can swoop up some of these pieces for a good price.

Just that phrase alone "V Loves The Way You Are" strikes up so much conversation, it is a such a strong thing to say and sometimes such a hard thing for people to believe. Really does a magazine love me the way I am, funny thing that is not the really pressing question it is usually, do you love the way you are? That is really the truth behind the spread within V Magazine, that showcases all sizes, styles, colours, creed and expresses creativity from so many different spectrums.

Most other magazines are pretty predictable for what you will see on the covers, the spreads, the particular type of models you see and sometimes it such a bummer that its that way, because seldom do you feel as if you can fit into any of them. It is a truly important thing for someone to appreciate themselves, love themselves, live with themselves and feel good about their personal traits. Now maybe as you are seeing more acceptable persons, those who found it hard before to love the way they are, might rest a little easier and soon follow suit!

The Bradaylor Project

Okay, for all who didn't know, I was obsessed with the Rachel Zoe Project and my obsession was behind mainly her, yes...but still also three very important people to that show...Brad Goreski, Taylor and Joey Maalouf. Well, I was lucky to stumble on a shoot of Brad and Taylor, that they did together after all of the drama of Taylor leaving the Zoe camp.

The idea of the shoot was for them to style themselves being the superstar stylists they are and then style each other, which was the part I was looking forward to the most, because we all know they really couldn't get along that well!

Anyway, it looked like alot of fun and my favorite shot was the one of the two of them together!

The first set is when they styled each other...and the second set is them styling themselves.

London FW 2010 Menswear Day!! - Yippie!

It's long been a paradox: how come Britain's most important contribution to fashion is an item of menswear - the suit - and yet its fashion week has been entirely dedicated to women? For the past 25 years, London Fashion Week (LFW) has nurtured a stream of womenswear designers to international fame, but its menswear designers didn't get a look in. It's not been a healthy state of affairs.

But now all this has changed. At this month's LFW - which runs from 19 to 23 February - the new menswear day will present its strongest field yet. Grown from a half-day experiment at the end of the schedule this time last year, British menswear now has an official outlet, and its designers have impressed with the strength, volume and validity of their work.

The need for a menswear day has been obvious for some time. Savile Row has long struggled with how to represent itself, while some menswear designers occasionally had the guts to take their place on the womenswear schedule. Kim Jones was one, showing menswear under his own name at LFW in 2003. But it was Lulu Kennedy of Fashion East who got the ball rolling. With the support of Topman and a slot on the women's schedule, she launched MAN, which since 2005 has shown the work of young designers alongside new collections from Topman Design.

What's clear about the new menswear day at LFW is that its organisers, the British Fashion Council, want it to represent as much of men's fashion in the capital as possible. Already Patrick Grant of Savile Row's Norton & Sons has shown his ready-to-wear E Tautz line on the schedule, which will hopefully give other tailors ideas on how to present their work. One of London menswear's most-watched, Aitor Throup, will be revealing his new clothing concept, while the all-important accessories designers will present their work on the same day.

There is a long way to go before menswear is level-pegging with women's at LFW: designers must learn how to translate their creativity into sales, and international buyers need to see London as an equal to Milan and Paris. London FW 2010 Womenswear End & Burberry Prorsum

Well, its the end of London Fashion Week 2010 Fall/Winter Collections, what a wonderful week for fashion it has been, with many amazing talents being showcased and sadly one big talent being missed, R.I.P Lee Mcqueen.

Well, one thing about Londoners, they know how to leave a lasting impression on people and with the new addition of Christopher Bailey and Burberry Prorsum showing in London Fashion Week for the last two years now...he closed London Fashion Week and it was a show to remember! Yes you guys remember that remarkable moment I had watching the Menswear show live...it was like being touched by a bit of heaven, well, it happened again...Mr. Bailey is a creative genius.

We all know Burberry is king when it comes to coats...and this season was no exception with some of the most amazing coats I have even been privileged to see. The military theme sure is here to stay and proving that a sargeant's coat is the world best coat to be caught wearing, but you know, its not quite that simple when Burberry does it, it always has some kind of edge, well it definitely did, with so many different shapes and styles, straps, big collars, double collars, sherling, furs, leathers, also some very interesting coats with a zipper detachable bottom that converts the coat into a nice cropped jacket, pure genius Christopher Bailey. There is honestly something very special about this guy, he has the power to easily allow me to critic his work with the most enthusiasm and drive than I've had for the whole season and from the first look on the runway.

I know you probably are saying that I'm so biased to Burberry Prorsum but "ya just gotta give jack he jacket" and in this case make sure its Burberry! Although many coats, were shown, that wasn't all, amazing separates adorned the runway such a lace military shirt, it was to die for, and some chiffon dresses which reached to the knee and would make anyone's winter a bit more special.

Last but not least...you know I had a great obsession with the men's boots from this season, but Ladies...you all will be in a much better place when you lay eyes on the snake skin thigh high boots that strutted down that runway this year, sigh...and if you aren't into those beauties, they also had some tough ankle booties that would make anyone feel like joining this army! Oh and how could I forget, the bags as well...ladies you are once again blessed!

Well congrats to Christopher Bailey on another great showing, I can't wait to be a part of the fashion industry now...especially with such amazing talents that I would do anything to work for and with.

Due to the influx of amazingness...lol...I have decided to group my favorites so far...my favorite designers in my favorite looks, yeah so no reviewing really.

Lets begin with Mulberry, a disco like ode to the seventies even had live-animal accessories.

then Sass & Bide, presented a black, white and gold fiasco, it was wicked!!

Alienistic shoulder army with Todd Lynn, the guys and the girls are just uniquely tough!

Top-Shop Unique rocking it with dead animals as headwear and comfortable eclectic looks on the body.

Twenty8Twelve did youthful and hip oh so well!

Vivienne Westwood Red Label was some kind of a love for Haiti chic orchestrated mess which I loved with so many separates to die for!
Finally onto the master of colour, print and tailoring, Paul Smith channels countryside chic-dom!

London FW 2010 Womenswear - Hakaan

Super sexy, alien chic...is what I would say about this collection from Hakaan, with its many asymmetrical details, super provocative cutouts, wrap detailing, all I could think about is if we were to be taken over by an alien race of super women let them wear these pieces! Everything was creative, but not to the point of lost and no return, it was futuristic yet still had a simple idea behind it, I really did enjoy this collection, the furs were nice, the mini pleated skirts were sick...well done Hakaan.

London FW 2010 Womenswear - Erdem

This is my first time reviewing anything by Erdem and I was just blown away, the colour, the prints, the silhouettes, everything was just fun, youthful and had that hint of uniqueness that you can't help but love. It had the whimsy and the practicality as well, it most definitely is an amazing collection and a designer I will continue to look out for(*Although he is quite popular already and most definitely with good cause).

Again...the booties were off the chain!

London FW 2010 Womenswear - Christopher Kane

Remember those gorilla graphic print t-shirts and dresses for Topman...well it was Christopher Kane, another extraordinary mind from London. This collection was pretty much, lace, leather and flower petals, no really I'm not kidding, but if there was one person who can do a collection like this it would have to be Christopher Kane.

It was definitely interesting to see, and a smart way to break up the tough exterior of leather by putting embroidery flowers onto it, but my honest opinion, some pieces are incredible and some really aren't, after seeing it a couple times it just left a feeling of nostalgia and I'm sure a collection this specific will have its lovers and it haters! All and all, amazing tailoring and construction for such fabrics but it can run its hardships among the masses.

The shoes were hott as well!

London FW 2010 Womenswear - Matthew Williamson

Matthew Williamson, one of Britian's biggest names in fashion, so big you would think he was part of the Royal Family, known for his love of colour and fun dresses, he is always the person who people just can't seem to get enough of, but trust, I can't either.

This collection wasn't as colourful as alot of his others but it still had its many Matthew Williamson attributes, such as alluring graphic prints, above the knee dresses and a flowly silhouette. Don't think it was nearly as bohemian as his trademark style, much more serious and had some tremendous tailoring, which honestly looked good but just didn't feel like I wanted to see this seriousness from such a hippie like designer, it wasn't my favorite collection to date from him, but it Matthew Williamson, I don't have that much complaints especially after seeing the runway show video...everything looked amazing still!

Well, isn't it a great thing when it seems like non-stop fashion shows from January throughout February, with the menswear, then the womenswear in NYC now its onto the next one which is in fact, London. Home of the extravagant, individualistic minds of fashion, here I would say is the place where the most experimental runway and street fashion happen, that in itself is an amazing thing. Hopefully it all goes well because it's only three days in and I am in a position of surrender because of the influx of designers to review, it is actually hurting me to say, I most definitely can't review all because so far with NYC and London put together it has been more thant 200+ shows...that is so incredible but an unfair and daunting task for anyone to review unless they had a team in which to help.

Well wish me luck along this journey which I know shall be fantastic yes...but tiresome even more so because I wouldn't be granted the pleasures of seeing them other than via computer screen which takes a whole heap of determination since its nothing like the real thing.

NYC FW 2010 Womenswear - Proenza Schouler

If university life was this sweet...it was varsity at Proenza Schouler this season, the jackets, the pleated skirts but not ordinary varsity...there was an amazing addition of furs. The colour palette was incredible with blues, greens, purples, black and whites, also captivating graphic prints made everything just so much more coveted and just kept bringing Alexander Mcqueen to my mind, and thats a good thing Proenza, a real good thing, Oh I can't forget those amazing paint splash pants! This collection was fun, youthful but it wasn't pointless, all the dresses like had double visual necklines which was a wonderful touch to dresses that would be asymmetrical one shoulder dresses usually, a great practical use. Congrats on another great showing!

NYC FW 2010 Womenswear - Oscar de la Renta

Oscar de la Renta really brought it hard this season, honestly, it got me so excited, it was perfection. It had everything, furs, patterns, it looked incredibly expensive, it had gowns, dresses, coats and all in unbelievable colour, so you know I was in my element. Its really incredible when a brand that has been around for so long can still have the creativity to excite, it is classy fashion, yes,it may not be edgy but women love classic pieces that will last for years to come and even mix with those edgier pieces that are on trend now. Oh the styling...impeccable styling...who ever did it needs a round of applause *clap clap*...the colours all blend so well! Congrats Oscar de la renta...one of my favorites definitely for NY Fashion week!

Details: I thought I've seen it all, that was until I saw the closeups...this collection has it all...and its all done so well! I can definitely say if i saw the accessories along come down the runway...hopping there way done on their own like in some mystical way, this collection would still rock! The bags are crazy...suede, snake skin, fur cluches...the jewelry...then it came to the shoes...some of the sickest for the season, for example those knee high brown boots...Oscar de la Renta really put his heart and soul into everything!

Front Row: Just who I expected to be in the front row...Rachel Zoe...one of my favorite celebrity stylists...she must have been saying "I die" all through the show...it was truly amazing and I can see so many looks for her clients in this collection alone! She looked Zoe as usual...vintage chic and a oversized silhouette, gotta love her!

I know you are wondering whats up, with a title like that, no its not a new collaboration for Victoria Beckham, its more of a gift to a special reader of mine by the name of Jessica Reid, and her love for all things Becky as she calls her.

Honestly, when she suggested this via BBM...yeah we all on that blackberry ish, I didn't even hesistate, I actually ran straight to the PC although I told her to look forward to it this weekend...just couldn't resist, its another chance to look at fashion, right. Well thats what I thought but then it hit me and hit me harder the death of Lee Mcqueen that very sad morning, the question was...how will I make this post memorable for Jessi R...thinking, thinking, thinking, it came to me like a bad pimple on the day before a night out, I think I'm going to make it a little story...now jumping with joy...lets begin this tale of one of the hottest women in the game.

Once upon a time, there was a girl by the name of Victoria Caroline Adams (*yeah i know half of you didn't know who she was before she became a Beckham, right...sh*ttt neither did I), she joined a group by the name of the Spice Girls,this was the start of her life as we know it. Posh, Posh, Posh, many people would shout because if you look at her then and look at her now, she was the best dressed, with a style that is classic and honestly, what else resonates from her unbelievable confidence in herself, but can you even hate?

Another Chapter, unfolded when she married Sir David Beckham,
then had kids,after all this is actually when she became noted for her real talent...style not singing (I'm not a hater, just being honest), she was the wife that everyone wanted to get a picture of and why not??...with tons of Birkin bags, four to seven inch heels, and fierceness that even Christian Siriano would give the stamp of approval, who would dare to miss such a spectacle...she became Victoria Beckham.

The Queen B of London, the once singer, now rightfully known fashion designer, author and fashion icon to the world, but it didn't stop there, she is now set on a journey to conquer America with her infectious style and dominance on the fashion scene.

Take a look at those Christian Louboutin "Freddy Flats"...with gold studs...just amazing, also the funky take on the suit jacket! Best Dressed Male anyday, f-c-k the traditional!

The Brits 2010...had so much more style though...a guy in gucci spring 2010 then continued with JLS in matching Emporio Armani suits pulled off with confidence...then there was the likes of Lady Gaga, looking the most simple we have seen in a long time, with hair that makes Amy Winehouse look like a tamed drunkard. Also, there was Alicia Keys looking sexy, Leona Lewis looking stunning, Lily Allen rocking the chanel Shanghai collection, Pixie Lott looking as cute as a button and the sugababes are sexy as - - - -(*fill in the blanks).

Michael Kors, hmmm...Let me be honest, I was never a fan and I thought I would never be one either, but things change, parliament changes, weather changes yet I still never thought I would love anything by Michael Kors.

Imagine, the shock I received when I was saw this Fall/Winter collection, it was that of unbelievable awe, it was my first time I was mesmerized by Michael Kors creativity, it was such a moment for me. Yes, it was still classic americano but it was sexy with the sheers, splits up to the panty line & the deep v necklines, it had edge with the oversized looks, but the class was held with the fabrics chosen, the luxe of each piece was the key to keeping everything together and he did it oh so well!

Alas, you may think I would fall victim to another womenswear designer pushing out a menswear line but it was quite refreshing to see, especially from one who I wouldn't have cared to review in the past. Everything was desirable, well everything except for this horrible silver metallic puffer trench coat, *puke* if you do puffer don't make it so noticeable, but on the sweet note of Rihanna singing (*haha I said that because we know she isn't the best singer, brilliant artist but singing hmph...we know better, one might even compare the two in their different realms), they were some jackets I would do almost anything to have as a part of my closet of dream keepers, yes thats what I call my clothing.

Well...after seeing that I could fall in love with something by Michael Kors, and this is not a testament of his ability as a designer but he just never sparked anything in me...I have renewed faith in the world...and I leave this post with the biggest smile yet on my little face!

Oh btw...if you remember Victoria Beckham's Collection, there is a tan dress with a scowl neck off the shoulder that is similar...I think she should wear Michael Kors to the Oscars because he did it way better...Sorry VB...

NYC FW 2010 Womenswear - Tibi

Isn't it an amazing thing when you can find a new designer that you want to see every season, Tibi is one of the few that drew me in. Tibi has this pixie feeling behind it, very colourful and patterned... just like I love my designs in Menswear.

This Fall/Winter collection was another spectacular reason to love Tibi, it was full of life, full of colour, full of pattern, the styling with the mix of colours was amazing, I am slowly edging this one up to my favorite with it many interesting details, lovely necklines, rusching on the trousers, also the amazing use of the fabrics with leather shirt, embellished materials and wools.

I love this collection!

Well we know Rodarte is always bringing the difference, the wrap detail that was used in the spring/summer collection was re-used here in the Fall/Winter Collection, it was a very interesting, unique and hippie chic showing by the sisters. The colours were neutral but alive, the fabric choices nice and the detailing with the tassles, fringing and knits, also the florals in Fall were a definite way to keep you captivated either with complete intrigue or wonder. The mixed up style of Rodarte was kept but I think it is growing on me alot and I really enjoyed this collection(*Its actually really cool when done well, this mixing of patterns, weight of fabrics, pants under dresses, its working) so A+ Ladies, another great showing with some different looks.

I didn't think he could get any better, because I enjoyed his Jason Wu collection, and he did...it was bias cut genius with the pants,also very nice colours and patterns. I will just let the pictures speak for this one but who the hell said using mannequins was a good idea, was DEAD WRONG, it took away from the feel the models gave the clothing! Otherwise, it was another great Jason Wu moment!

I just love Marc Jacobs...showing multiple collections isn't easy at all, everyone knows how good he is, and he just keeps doing it! Looks like his new engagement/marriage to Lorenzo really is keeping him happy and inspired because it showed...lets start with Marc by Marc Jacobs, it was comfy, full of colourful patterns with stripes, plaids and polka dots, the silhouette was very flowing and relaxed. It also featured menswear, not the best I've seen at all but nice pieces that you can definitely find space in your closet for.

Alright now, lets get on to the real deal...the Marc Jacobs collection...great clean lines, luxurious feel, he stepped his game up with this one...I really enjoyed it. It was a classic showing with suits, flared skirts, more furs, alot of mid length and floor length dresses and skirts. Great fabrics, embellishments, patterns...the bags, the heels all completed the wonderful viewing I had! Go Marc!

Front Row at Marc Jacobs: Rachel Zoe & her husband Roger were there, Anna Wintour (*of course, its Marc Jacobs), Joe Zee and Mary Alice Stephenson (who looked amazing at Carolina Herrera! and did it again!). Style was in full effect, i loved it!

Sigh...a Party happened as well, it was one of fashion's best nights for me, i felt so good to see one of my idols, Brad Goreski, Bryan Boy (*well I guess this means two) and of course, Marc's guy was there as well! I think the party was the IT party to be at, looked like so much fun, maybe sometime in the future i will get that invite.

NYC FW 2010 Womenswear - Carolina Herrera

Showstopping elegance, Carolina Herrera is the queen this season for looking so expensive it hurts, everything looked classy, from the hats, the wide leg pants, the silhouettes, the furs, it all just felt luxe. The fabric choices were another stellar touch to this collection with so many colours and great combinations...something I didn't see much this season was gowns, amazing amazing! G L A M O R O-U-S...is definitely the feeling you would get if you own anything from this collection...Great Job.

The Details: Seeing the closeups, just made everything set in so much deeper, about how luxurious everything is, the hats with the detailing, the heels, the embroidery gloves...sigh it is just all working so well!

The Front Row: It was very stylish...I was in awe because honestly, I think the people that get invited to these shows are very privileged but they don't always show their appreciation by dressing the part...this time they definitely did...got me excited about my future of going to shows and killing it! Of course, The Vogue US Team was there...with Anna Wintour and Grace Coddington...they honestly know which shows to see and thank God they aren't let down! Carolina Herrera Rocked it!

This collection definitely amazed me, just like it did the critics, I was left in complete awe. It honestly had everything, the strength of the tough girl collections we have been seeing, the edge, the innovation and even the flirty girly feel as well. It also portrayed what most designers have been showing which is the amazing mix of fabrics, the furs, the sheer, the patterns, Thakoon did it all well, the boots, the heels, the simple design mixed with the punch of some edge; definitely worthy of being in my favorites.

The Details: Great fresh belt design and so many shoes for you ladies!

Thakoon definitely draws a crowd and a high profile one at that...with Vogue in full effect, Editor, Anna Wintour and Creative Director, Grace Coddington!
