NYC FW 2010 Womenswear - Alexander Wang

Mr.Wang...Mr.Wang...Mr.Wang...I always have mixed emotions when it comes to his collections, very much love hate. This collection featured a very dreary colour palette and his belly cut outs from his spring collection, also returned but not much to my liking. The youth was there in the lengths but it became such a seriously grown showing with all the pinstripe, velvet and the gathering on the minis; I honestly don't like most of the fabric choices except the lace which I think was a great touch and actually made one of my favorite looks. Obviously it wasn't all bad to me, some pieces were innovative, well made, well structured and very Wang which works for the young women that like the urban look...I think with this one, you have to give it time to set in, grow on you and look at them as pieces in your closet to be paired with better clothing but honestly should we really have to envision a collection like that? Sigh...Maybe I'll get it next month!

Looks I Liked:

The Details: The backpacks, the clutches were nice but what really stood out were those brown boots with the funky tip!

Now for the celebrities looking on, of course Anna Wintour was there looking nice as usual, then there was one of my favorite socialites, Zoe Kravitz and then, 14 year old blogging sensation Tavi...I wonder what they are going to say about this collection, funny thing is I'm sure they'll like it.
