The Little Black Dress Experiment

I know you have all heard a woman say "i need to find me that perfect little black dress", whether it be your mother, your girlfriend or just a random girl whose conversation you overheard, i can tell you, i have heard it all three ways. Women describe it as a hidden tool, *and i say to myself "as if they needed anymore"*, the little black dress is in my opinion, just another lethal weapon to add to their already sexy arsenal. It has been known to make them look slimmer, add allure and can be worn at many occasions whether the needed attire was simple or required overstated elegance.

With all that said, the little black dress experiment, is about a stylist - Valerie Elizabeth showcasing how important and useful having one in your closet can be. The task at hand was for her to wear the "same" little black dress for 31 days...yes i said it, 31 days. At first, i was a little skeptical at how she would make it all work but indeed it was done, and incredibly well at that. Her innate ability to style was definitely shown within this experiment, all from wearing the dress back to front, to adding a black top over it and belting that said top to visually extend the sleeves.

It is all about choosing a basic, well constructed and flattering piece and adding other pieces with it to expand your wardrobe.

The Dress used: Elli Grace - cowl neck dress in Viscose Jersey.
